ISCAST–Christianity and Science in Conversation is unique as an Australian Christian not-for-profit dedicated to fostering constructive dialogue between Christian faith, the sciences, and technology. We are seeking an experienced and proactive Communications and Public Engagement Officer to raise our public profile and amplify our message across Australia and beyond.
Employment Status: Part-time (0.6 FTE) to Full-time (1.0 FTE) – Negotiable
Location: Hybrid role based in Melbourne (office: Forest Hill)
Reporting to: The Associate Director
Remuneration: Appropriate to the position and the not-for-profit sector
Commencing: January/February 2026
The Opportunity
You will be responsible for shaping and executing ISCAST’s content, communications, and media strategy. The primary goal is to significantly raise ISCAST’s public profile and strategically engage new generations (especially Gen Z) by securing coverage across diverse Christian and secular media platforms, while ensuring clear and consistent communication with our valued donors and friends.
Key Requirements
The role is flexible and may be shaped to suit the background and strengths of the person appointed. However, the following is likely to describe the successful candidate:
- You are an active Christian who fully affirms ISCAST’s vision, mission, and values.
- You have proven, high-level experience as a writer and editor across diverse formats.
- You have demonstrated success in managing social media and tailoring content to diverse audiences, including younger generations.
- You have experience in proactively engaging media outlets (both Christian and mainstream) to secure profile-raising coverage.
- You may also have experience in strategic-level fundraising and relationship management.
