Living in the age of the Great Silliness and the Denial of Consciousness

The “hard problem of consciousness” (made famous by Australian philosopher David Chalmers) is a constant thorn in the side of committed naturalists. In this article at the New York Review of Books, Galen Strawson introduces us to qualia, or the “what it’s like” of human consciousness and he challenges the Great Silliness that would try and deny the obvious. This is a good introduction to one of those difficult problems that vex philosophers and scientists alike.
